Gadwal is a town nestled in the Mahaboobnagar District in Telangana, which is famous for its Garwal sarees. The major tourist attraction of the town is the Gadwal Fort which was built by the Gadwal ruler Peda Soma Bhupaludu in the 17th century. It offers a wonderful display of the ancient architectural glory of the country. The fort was constructed with huge and strong walls, which surrounds the complete fort making it very strong and inviolable.

The fort is the home to the deity of Sri Ramalayam, Sri Venugopala Swamy, Sri Chennakesava Swamy Temple and a water body.


Reach the town conveniently
The town enjoys a wonderful location as it is located in between Kurnool and Hyderabad and is just 16 kilometres away from the Erravelli Junction located on at the Bangalore-Hyderabad NH 7. The fort also has a 23 foot long cannon, which was brought by the ruler Pedda Soma Bhupala after defeating Nawab of Kurnool as a symbol of victory and it is the biggest in the country.
