Temple of Goddess Saraswati Devi, the Basar Saraswati Temple is an architectural brilliance located in on the banks of the River Godavari in the Basar Village in Adilabad District of Telangana. The temple is believed to be among the two oldest temples of Goddess Saraswati in the whole country and is considered to be around 2000 years old. The temple is surrounded by the bounty of the nature and offers wonderful picturesque views to the tourists. The temple comprises of idols of Goddess Saraswati, Lakshmi and Kali.






Ancient ritual for the enlightenment of the children
The temple experiences a large crowd of pilgrims who come here to perform Akshara abhyasam for their children, it is the place where special ritual is performed by the followers of Hindu religion in which the devotees bring their children to the temple to begin their education and they are given a small bite of turmeric paste to taste in order to clear their vocal chords for better learning.

The temple is very conveniently located as it is just 40 kilometres away Nizamabad and the nearest Railway Station is Basara Railway Station.
